2 women arrested for alleged death threat

Two young women were arrested Wednesday afternoon for reportedly threatening to kill another woman at a trailer park in Old Town.

The victim, who called police from a nearby pizza restaurant, had been visiting a friend at Wadleigh’s Trailer Park off Stillwater Avenue, Old Town police Sgt. Mike Hashey said Thursday.

Hashey was told by the victim and witnesses that three women came to the trailer and threatened her and tried to get her to come outside. One of the women had been warned by an officer earlier in the day not to have contact with the victim, who managed to run from the trailer park to a local restaurant, where she called police.

Two of the women involved – Joan Zulias, 22, of Old Town and Megan Donoghue, 20, of Bangor – were arrested for criminal threatening and were taken to Penobscot County Jail. The third was not charged.

A man who was refused alcohol Wednesday at a restaurant in Old Town was arrested after police learned that he was violating his bail conditions.

Mark Whitmore, 45, originally from Caribou, was extremely intoxicated at about 8 p.m., according to police, when he showed up at the Chocolate Grille on Main Street and tried to order a drink.

Employees would not serve Whitmore and encouraged him to leave. When he wouldn’t, they called police.

Whitmore was arrested for violating conditions of his bail that stated he was not to consume alcohol. He was taken to Penobscot County Jail, but not before he urinated and defecated in his pants inside the police cruiser, according to Old Town police Sgt. Mike Hashey.
