ELLSWORTH – A 31-year-old Eastbrook man was sentenced to two years in prison Thursday after he pleaded guilty to having sex with a teenager who was living in his home.
Hancock County Superior Court Judge Andrew M. Mead ordered Christopher W. Davis Jr. to serve two years of an eight-year sentence at the state Department of Corrections for a felony charge of gross sexual assault.
Assistant District Attorney Mary Kellett told the court that Davis had between 30 and 50 sexual encounters, including fondling and oral sex, and five or six incidents of intercourse with the girl while she was living in his home in 2004. The girl was 13 years old at the time.
The sex acts came to light after the girl moved out and Davis continued to contact her by e-mail. The messages contained graphic details about their encounters.
The girl and her mother decided not to attend Thursday’s court proceedings, but the mother reviewed the plea agreement and was satisfied, Kellett said.
Upon his release from prison, Davis will be placed on probation for five years and prohibited from possessing a computer or using the Internet. He will be required to register in his community as a sex offender.
The judge also ordered Davis to have no contact with girls under the age of 16. He will be allowed to spend time with his own children, but the visits must be supervised, Mead said.
Davis is scheduled to begin his sentence Dec. 27.
