FARMINGTON – Travis Carrier of Auburn scored 27 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the University of Maine-Farmington to a 91-78 victory over Lyndon State in the men’s basketball championship game of the Hight Chevrolet Tip-Off Tournament Sunday.
In the consolation game, Wentworth downed UM-Presque Isle 96-52.
In the title game, Trafton Teague of Fairfield had 19 points for UMF and Matt St. John of Wayne added 16. Travis Magnusson added 10 points and 11 assists.
Chris Dorsey scored 26 points and Tanner Pryce added 24 for Lyndon State.
In the consolation game, Sherrod Prezzie-Blue led all scorers with 26 points and grabbed eight rebounds as well for Wentworth. Bryan Gaine and Jeff Cappa scored 13 and 10 points, respectively.
For UMPI, Brett Miles had 22 points and three steals.
Carrier was joined on the all-tournament team by Dorsey, Pryce, UMPI’s Miles and Wentworth’s Prezzie-Blue.
