Freeze Congress’ wages

As a student of our Constitution and our history, I am appalled at what’s going on in Washington and how out of touch the legislative and executive branches are with the intent of our forefathers and what is right for our country.

Remember that clever gimmick instituted some time ago, where Congress gets an annual pay raise, automatically going into effect unless actions are taken to stop it? It is time Congress lived by the same rules as the rest of us.

Compensation should be tied to performance, and performance in recent years has hit rock bottom. Important legislation gets passed without reading the bills or getting all the facts; everyone is shifting blame, avoiding responsibility. And no one seems concerned when a few billion dollars are every month.

Masses of citizens should show their displeasure by insisting there be no salary increases. Their actions do not deserve additional compensation. I am outraged and will say so.
