Regarding the article, “Baldacci optimistic about Old Town mill” (BDN, Nov. 14).
What else can he say now that we have and receive all the waste from the East Coast that no one else will accept? Thank you, Gov. Baldacci, for making us a dump state for the East Coast.
Georgia-Pacific also owned the mills in Millinocket and East Millinocket, and the Dolby Landfill. They did not accept out-of-state waste. They are also far enough away from the towns and housing and still exist with the present mill, roughly eight miles from housing and towns.
Why did this mill have to accept our state waste when no other mill in the state had to?
