The Nov. 19-20 article regarding having us wear an electronic chip or have it embedded in our bodies to provide medical information is repugnant at this time. Maybe any time.
Dogs have chips embedded in them. We aren’t dogs.
There is a simple answer. I carry a paper with the list of all surgical interventions, medical incidents, allergies, medications (both prescription and over the counter), chronic diagnosed conditions, recent inoculations, doctor’s names, and those to notify should I become ill or incapacitated. I hand this to ambulance technicians, ER personnel, or even my doctor on an appointment. They are often surprised of appreciative.
This list is in my computer and updated at any change. I don’t need an electronic chip.
People should be encouraged to carry this information. People have been told to put a similar list on their refrigerators but that won’t help if you are in an accident or have a medical need away from home.
