ORONO – Internet security is the subject of a free public talk at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2, at the University of Maine. The talk will be given by a senior vice president at VeriSign Security Services, the company that authenticates secure connections for millions of consumers logging into sensitive Web sites, including credit card or home-banking sites.
Maria Cirino has been invited to speak to UM business school students and the public by the business school’s Management Information Systems Association. The lecture will be held in the D.P. Corbett Business Building lecture hall, located behind the Maine Center for the Arts.
As senior vice president of VeriSign’s Security Services and head of VeriSign Security Services Indirect Channel Organization, Cirino is responsible for setting channel strategy, driving channel development and the sales of VeriSign’s security services through its indirect channels.
A frequent industry speaker, Cirino has received numerous industry awards and recognition.
