Last weekend we and our two young children attended the Anne Murray concert at the Bangor Auditorium. She, her band and the accompanying orchestra did a fantastic job entertaining us.
We were, however, disappointed and appalled at the auditorium’s condition. The seating arrangements were mostly bleachers and very uncomfortable. For the senior citizens the concert attracted, it was extremely dangerous. I witnessed several who could barely negotiate a flat surface, let alone try to climb the bleachers to get to their seats.
Indeed, at the end of the concert, Timothy witnessed, and attended to, an elderly woman who fell climbing down from the bleachers. She hit her head hard on the cement floor. Fortunately, she only fell one step and her injuries were minor.
I can’t believe the city can’t come up with a better venue than this dinosaur which should be leveled. The Bangor City Council should be embarrassed to have such a poor facility to offer talented acts such as Anne Murray for performing.
