CONCORD, N.H. – A man accused of trespassing on college campuses in three states, including Maine, faces new charges.
Scott Nitchie, 25, of Concord, who has been fined several times for prowling, was charged Tuesday with stalking four young girls and peeking into a bathroom window in July. He also was charged with trespassing on the grounds of Rundlett Middle School in September.
City prosecutors said Nitchie’s crimes are becoming more serious.
“The defendant has taken his behavior to the next level, which involved direct contact with individuals and more threatening behavior,” said Assistant City Prosecutor Paul Halvorsen.
Nitchie is being held in the Strafford County jail on charges he trespassed in a dorm at the University of New Hampshire in October.
He also has been accused of trespassing at Middlebury College in Vermont and at the University of Vermont, where he allegedly peeked into the showers in a women’s dorm.
In August, Nitchie was accused of knocking on a dorm room door at Bowdoin College in Maine and asking for aloe vera to soothe a sunburn. He later was found peering into car windows at a hotel.
In court Tuesday, Nitchie acted erratically, calling out “objection” while his bail conditions were reviewed and accusing prosecutors of stealing his identity.
He insisted he already had been tried on the charges and asked to have his “babies and children” returned to him.
The stalking charges are Class A misdemeanors, and the charges that Nitchie trespassed on school grounds and peeked into a bathroom window are violations.
Nitchie also is charged with breaking prior bail conditions, a misdemeanor, and missing an arraignment for a separate prowling charge in August.
