The Bangor Police Department says it is investigating a burglary early Wednesday morning involving three men who forced their way into a Curve Street apartment and assaulted a resident.
The three men, all white and wearing hooded sweat shirts, kicked in the man’s apartment door and confronted him, Detective Sgt. Paul Kenison said Wednesday afternoon.
A physical altercation ensued and the three men fled on foot, Kenison said. The man in the apartment suffered some superficial injuries but refused treatment by an ambulance crew that arrived. The man told police that he didn’t know the three men involved in the incident. Anyone with information can contact the Bangor Police Department at 947-7382, ext. 252.
A Brewer man was charged with terrorizing and domestic assault on Tuesday after it was reported he assaulted his girlfriend and threatened to kill her.
In talking with the woman, Brewer police officers noticed that she had marks on her arms and neck, Brewer Lt. Perry Antone said Wednesday. The suspect, Melvin Moore, 48, initially fled from police but was located and arrested, Antone said. It was believed that alcohol was involved in the incident, he said.
A Corinth man told a security officer at a Bangor hospital and then a Bangor police officer that he didn’t like their attitudes and then assaulted them on Wednesday, police said..
The security officer at Eastern Maine Medical Center said he was pushed, nearly off balance, by John F. Kossowan, 52, who was being seen in the hospital’s emergency room. Prior to the assault, Kossowan told the security officer, “I don’t like your attitude,” according to the police report.
Bangor police Officer Christopher Blanchard arrived and was writing a summons for the assault on the security officer when Kossowan allegedly told the officer that he didn’t like his attitude.
That statement was followed by Kossowan punching the officer on the upper right arm, which was followed shortly thereafter by police arresting Kossowan. He was charged with two counts of assault.
