Eight people were laid off this week from American Pride LLC, according to company officials. American Pride LLC is the company that purchased the former Pride Manufacturing Co.’s wood turnings business in Guilford this fall. Donette Maynard, the company’s human resources manager, said the layoff was in connection with the slow time of year. The company continues to employ 56 people.
