Bangor has more than its share of architectural gems – homes so grand that you’d just love to take a little peek inside.
Well, this weekend you can visit four during “Home for the Holidays: A Christmas Tour of Four Historic Area Homes,” sponsored by St. John’s Episcopal Church.
The self-guided tour will take place from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, and includes stops at the the William T. Hilliard-Hannibal Hamlin House, built in 1851 by architect Benjamin S. Deane, and located at 15 Fifth St.; the Jones P. Veazie House, built from 1874 to 1875 by architect George W. Orff, located at 88 Fountain St.; the Tarratine Club House, built by Parker and Thomas architects, located at 81 Park St.; and the Frederick W. Hill-Charles P. Webber House, built from 1908 to 1909, architect unknown, located at 502 State St.
Tickets for the tour cost $10 for two houses, $20 for four, and are available at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Hampden Floral, Patrick’s Hallmark (Broadway location) and Rebecca’s Gift Shop.
