BELFAST – The Arts Center at Kingdom Falls will hold a Holiday Open House at the Anderson School 6-9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16.

The Arts Center is in the process of acquiring the building to expand its art programming and is welcoming all to attend and celebrate the season. There will be Christmas music, holiday refreshments, tours of the building and an ornament swap. Bring an ornament for the tree and take a different one home with you.

There will also be an exhibit of art by local youth. Students of all ages from the area have been invited to submit artwork based on the theme of “Joy,” reflecting their own ideas and feelings about the subject. The artwork will be hung throughout the building and these galleries will also be open 1-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 17 and 18.

At the Open House, the Arts Center will be collecting big baskets of art supplies to send to a sister city arts center in Louisiana. Donations of paint sets, scissors, crayons, markers, paper and other supplies will be sent to artists of all ages affected by Hurricane Katrina.

The Anderson School is located at 256 High St. in Belfast. For more information about the youth art show, ornament swap or open house, please contact the Arts Center office at 589-3025.
