A cooking stove fire Saturday spread to the kitchen walls and ceiling at 75 Grace St. The homeowner tried to extinguish the flames. The 2:39 p.m. blaze caused considerable damage to the wall and ceiling, Fire Lt. Jamie Leo said Monday. He did not have a damage estimate. The uninjured homeowner, Kathleen Hennessey, was the only one in the dwelling at the time of the fire, Leo said. Rockland Fire Department responded to the 911 call with 16 firefighters, two engines, two ambulances and a utility vehicle. Thomaston Fire Department arrived with its ladder truck and four crew members, while Rockport Fire Department stood by Rockland’s station with an engine and five personnel.
