The University of Maine and the Friends of Maine Hockey have scheduled their annual “Skate with the Bears” session for Sunday from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Alfond Arena in Orono.
The free event allows youngsters and other Black Bear fans to join the UMaine men’s and women’s hockey teams on the ice for a recreational skate. Participants can get autographs and have their pictures taken with their favorite players and UMaine mascot “Bananas.”
A limited number of free skate rentals are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
