Workers began removing the old Beacon Street water tank on Monday, which some residents thought had fallen. They should be finished by today, water department supervisor Scott Clukey said Thursday. “It didn’t fall,” he said. “We took that down on purpose. They’re cutting it up as we speak.” The tank had corrosion and water quality problems, Clukey said. B&S Salvage of Hudson is doing the work. (Nok-Noi Hauger, BDN)
