Potential candidates for the Maine Warden Service who thought they’d missed the state’s application deadline still have a bit of time left.
The original application deadline was Nov. 11, but that has been changed to Dec. 19.
Among the requirements for those who apply: Applicants must include proof of age, a copy of their high school diploma or GED, a letter from the Maine Criminal Justice Academy showing their ALERT exam score, a letter from the academy showing pre-employment physical fitness test results.
For those who have yet to take their physical fitness test, the test will be given again Thursday at 9 a.m. at the Maine Criminal Justice Academy.

While many hunters and outdoors enthusiasts choose to attend state-mandated safety courses during the summer and fall, those courses continue year-round.

Hunter safety:
