ORONO – The Orono Red Riots trailed by as many as 11 points in the first half before rallying for a 48-42 schoolgirl basketball victory over the Penquis Patriots Tuesday night.
Lauren Young’s 12 points led Orono and Emily Sypher had 10 points and seven rebounds for the winners, who outscored Penquis 13-3 in the fourth quarter to take control.
Mandy Dolley’s 16-point effort led all scorers for the Milo-based Patriots and Jen Stetson added 12.
