ORONO – The University of Maine Department of Art will hold an opening reception for the senior Capstone class art exhibit, “In the Road,” 5-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, at Carnegie Hall.

The show will feature painting, sculpture, photography, installation pieces, interior design and furniture design.

Students showing work in the exhibit are:

. Matthew Corbett, Hallowell.

. Sara Cormier, Presque Isle.

. Mia E. Dow, Presque Isle.

. Allison Melton, Orono.

. Corrie Pietras, Lincoln.

In conjunction with the exhibition, a silent auction will be held to benefit the Southern Arts Federation, an emergency relief fund to assist arts organizations and artists who live in Gulf Coast communities devastated by Hurricane Katrina.

“In the Road” will run through Feb. 3. Gallery hours are 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday. Admission is free. To obtain more information, call 581-3245 or visit www.intheroad.org.
