University of Maine freshman forward Philippe Tchekane Bofia was named the America East rookie of the week for the first time in his collegiate career after averaging 12 points and four rebounds in two games last week – a win over Dartmouth and loss to Rutgers. The 6-foot-6 native of Yaounde, Cameroon came to Maine from Redemption Christian Academy in New York.
