ORONO – Travis Dunton’s 18 points led a well-balanced effort as the Orono Red Riots held off the Searsport Vikings 68-51 in high school boys basketball action Monday night.

Bryan Henigan added nine points as Orono had 11 players with at least two points. Nyasha Millard chipped in with nine rebounds, seven points and four assists.

Sean Johnson paced Searsport with 19 points. Garrett Greenlaw scored 12 and Matt Nickerson had 10.

At Milo, the Red Devils raced out to an 11-0 lead in the first quarter then held on after Penquis rallied within two with a 13-0 burst to start the fourth quarter.

Tyler Pines was the game’s only double-figure scorer with 16 points for Central of Corinth.

Nate Allen and Kole Stevens led host Penquis with eight points each.

At Guilford, Tracy Dewey went 6-for-6 from the free-throw line in the fourth quarter as the Pirates held off the Patriots.

Dewey scored eight of her game-high 22 points in the fourth. Kellie Martel added 16 points.

Erica Lyford led Penquis of Milo with 17 points, including a basket that put the Patriots up with two minutes left in the game. Mindy Dolley scored 12 points.
