The 6-foot-10 senior center for the unbeaten Hampden Academy basketball team had 25 points and 10 rebounds in a victory at Brewer and followed with 24 points in a win against Skowhegan.
Small School (Classes C-D)
MATT CUMMINGS
Cummings led the surprising Penobscot Valley of Howland boys basketball team to a pair of victories, averaging 19.5 points as the Howlers topped Piscataquis of Guilford and Stearns of Millinocket.
GIRLS
Big School (Classes A-B)
KAYLA GUSHEE
Gushee, a Camden Hills junior guard, led the Windjammers with 23 points in a 66-51 victory over rival Belfast Tuesday. Gushee, who is averaging 16.2 points per game, has been the leading scorer in three of four Camden Hills wins this season.
Small School (Classes C-D)
ASHLEY TILTON
A junior center for the Washington Academy basketball team, Tilton has paced the undefeated Raiders in scoring in all four games this season, most recently pouring in 17 points in a 58-43 win over Jonesport-Beals Tuesday. The 5-10 Tilton has averaged 21 points per game so far.
