Campbell propels Owls to victory over Houlton

MADAWASKA – Alan Campbell scored 22 points and grabbed nine rebounds Friday night to help Madawaska remain unbeaten with a 59-40 schoolboy basketball victory over Houlton.

Mark Sirois scored 15 points, grabbed seven rebounds and blocked five shots for Madawaska, while Matt Beaulieu netted 11 points. Dominique Rossignol handed out eight assists.

Justin Stewart paced Houlton with 14 points.

At Readfield Thursday, Mike Poulin’s layup with 30 seconds left forced the overtime and Bryce Spalding scored all four of his points in the extra session as Maranacook triumphed.

Ryan Martin had a game-high 24 points and he also made four steals for the Black Bears. Poulin finished with 10 points and Justin Denbow contributed eight more. Jimmy Palmer grabbed six rebounds.

Finley Allen’s 22 points paced Waterville. Steve Flowers chipped in with nine more.
