Of women and men

Regarding Dr. Erik Steele’s column, “Living in a houseful of women” (BDN, Dec. 20).

During World War II we were a houseful of women. A mother and four daughters. Brothers and stepfather off to war.

Our concerns were for their safety and return home, but we enjoyed each other.

God help the guy (usually a 4 F’er) who visited us, he too might find pin curls in his hair or a dab of lipstick on his lips.

As we know most women who live through the aging process need extra estrogen. Have you considered this procedure for young men as testosterone rules their youth? Because, not many of them will be as fortunate as you are to absorb the common sense and strength of women.

After 58 years with my husband he tells me he likes me better than himself.

Yes, it’s OK to put a blanket in the dog’s bed and kiss her good night. It’s OK when I cry about our young being maimed and killed in this stupid war.

It’s disgusting and degrading to hear of women being abused, beaten and killed in the name of love. Love does not ever hurt.
