A Bangor woman was arrested Christmas night when she went to a friend’s residence and allegedly started a fight with an ex-boyfriend’s new girlfriend.
Bangor police arriving at the scene at about 8:30 p.m. saw Nicole Chapman, 22, running from a residence on Boynton Street. She was caught and placed in handcuffs, according to a police report.
After speaking with witnesses and with Chapman, police learned that the woman got into an argument with another woman, apparently over a boyfriend. Chapman then reportedly threw a glass at the other woman, causing several cuts on her face.
Chapman told police she left the apartment because the woman was beating her up, but witnesses said Chapman was to blame, so police arrested her on a charge of assault.
Her blood-alcohol level was 0.23 when she was tested at the police station. An officer drove her home, issued her the summons for assault and warned her not to return to the Boynton Street apartment.

A couple returning home late Christmas night from a bar reportedly got into an argument that escalated into a fight at their Kineo Street home.
Nathan King, 25, and his fiancee told police they had gone to a bar and taken a taxi home. Once they were home, the couple began to argue about “everything,” according to a police report.
Both admitted to having too much to drink, but police were concerned about a bruise above the woman’s eye and additional bruises on her knee and arms.
Officers also saw broken pottery on the floor, spilled beer and a flower vase that had been tipped over, the report stated.
Police had probable cause to arrest King, who was taken to the police station, issued a summons for assault and told not to return to Kineo Street.

Brewer police arrested a local man Saturday night who allegedly broke a pair of windows and tried to kick in a door at an Edgewood Drive residence he used to share with an ex-girlfriend.
Philip Banks, 46, went to his former home around 7:30 p.m. to talk with the woman, but she did not want him there and would not let Banks in, Brewer police said.
The man allegedly responded by breaking two side windows on the building and then trying to kick in the front door. The woman called police, who arrived to find Banks on the front porch. He was arrested and charged with criminal mischief and criminal threatening.
