ORONO – Tony Raymond and Kyle Weiland each registered a goal and an assist to lead the undefeated Orono Red Riots to a 3-1 high school hockey win over the Presque Isle Wildcats at Alfond Arena Tuesday.

Raymond scored 27 seconds into the game, with assists from Weiland and Sean Babin, then Weiland converted an assist from Raymond and Travis Bryant early in the second period.

Tom Smyth netted the other goal on a Chris McConnon assist. Keith Hedrick made 20 saves on 21 shots for 3-0 Orono.

Ryan Cyr scored on a Ben McPherson assist for 2-2 Presque Isle. Brendon Esquibel made 25 saves on 28 shots.

Houlton-Hodgdon 12, Stearns 1

At Millar Arena, Houlton, Billy Policano scored two goals and assisted three others to help lead Houlton-Hodgdon to the win.

Micah Carton had two goals and two assists for 3-2 Houlton-Hodgdon and Ryan Currier added two goals. Sharif Abouleish had a goal and an assist. Zach Chase, Grady Anderson, Alex Mooers, Morgan Hall, and Tyler Martin each scored a goal. Sam Carter, Chris Howland, and Ashir Abouleish all had two assists. Aaron Fitzpatrick made 15 saves on 16 shots.

Mike Simon scored on a Mike Busque assists 10:29 into the first period for 0-2 Stearns of Millinocket. Paul Rucci made 51 saves on 63 shots.

Foxcroft 4, Skowhegan 2

At Sawyer Arena in Bangor, David White’s two third-period goals lifted the Ponies to victory.

Chad Phillips and Logan Forrest added a goal apiece for Foxcroft. Jon Catell had 30 saves on 32 shots.

Brad Beauregard and Jacob Tracy scored for Skowhegan and Jared Johnson saved 24 of 28 shots.

Boys basketball

DI-Stonington 58, Lee 52

At Deer Isle, Collin Ciomei had 22 points and 12 rebounds to lead unbeaten Deer Isle-Stonington to victory.

Ciomei hit four free throws in the middle of the fourth quarter to help the Mariners pull away from the Pandas.

Bryant Ciomei added 21 points, seven assists, and seven rebounds for the Mariners.

Tom Bird led Lee Academy with 17 points, and Tyler Thompson added 11.
