A Brewer man was arrested on Tuesday afternoon after he reportedly broke into a locked motel room and then ran from officers.
Adam Freeman, 19, kicked down the door of a Brewer motel room where his mother was staying after she refused to let him in. The door frame was split, according to police reports.
Brewer police Sgt. Jason Moffitt went to the scene and spotted Freeman on the motel balcony. He ordered him to come down, but Freeman fled.
According to Moffitt, he and Officer Roger Hershey caught up with Freeman 20 minutes later at a Wilson Street convenience store, where they charged him with domestic violence.
Hampden police arrested a local man Tuesday night after he allegedly assaulted his wife and then disabled the phone so she could not call for help.
Officer Mark Egan arrived at Crestwood Trailer Park in Hampden around 11 p.m. to find the suspect, Joshua Curtis, 20, of Hampden, not at home.
Two hours later, Egan found Curtis at another trailer in the same park, and arrested him for misdemeanor assault and obstructing the report of a crime. Curtis was taken to Penobscot County Jail, and was released on bail Wednesday after appearing in court.
Curtis’ wife did not require medical attention, according to police reports.
An Old Town man was arrested Tuesday night for reportedly destroying a car that did not belong to him outside a convenience store parking lot.
The brother of a tenant living in an apartment above Harris Grocery Store approached a parked vehicle after he heard screaming from inside. Derrick Beal, 21, of Old Town jumped out of the car and threatened the boy, according to reports, causing him to run up to the apartment to call police,.
Old Town police Officer Roy Peary and Sgt. Travis Roy arrived at the scene and found that Beal had broken the windshield of the car, ripped off the rearview mirror and smashed other parts of the interior.
Beal was charged with violating his bail, criminal threatening, and criminal mischief. After being searched, Beal also was charged with the possession of Schedule Z drugs.
He remains in Penobscot County Jail.
