Tripp, Mustangs down Waterville

THORNDIKE – Kyle Tripp scored 12 points – four in the second overtime including two free throws in the final 12 seconds – to lead the Mount View Mustangs past Waterville 36-33 in schoolboy basketball action Wednesday night.

Finley Allen led the Purple Panthers with 15 points.

At Fairfield, the Hampden Academy Broncos rallied from an eight-point fourth-quarter deficit to remain undefeated.

J Uhrin paced Hampden with 14 points, while Jordan Cook scored 12 and Daniel McCue added eight for the Broncos, who limited Lawrence to 14 second-half points

Cameron Oakes led Lawrence with a game-high 16 points, while Dylan Costigan scored 10.

At Hallowell, Josh Tardiff had two goals and an assist as the Hampden Academy Broncos earned their second victory of the season.

Steve Boutin added a goal and an assist for 2-3 Hampden, while Sam McNutt also scored. Nick Beal contributed two assists, while Kyle Sparacio, Ian Lee and Troy Gaudet also earned assists for the Broncos.

Pete Caradonna and Travis Amos scored for 0-4 Gardiner, while Kevin May and Joe Fisher had assists for the Tigers.

Hampden goalie Ryan Richards made 13 saves on 15 shots, while Gardiner’s Chris Howe saved 26 of 30 shots.

Girls basketball

Camden Hills 52, Rockland 38

At Rockland, Kayla Carlton scored eight of her 10 points in the fourth quarter and Kayla Gushee contributed seven of her team-high 14 as Camden Hills outscored Rockland 19-8 to pull away for the win.

Kristen Richards and Marianne Croce scored eight points apiece for the Windjammers, who improved to 6-0.

Caitlin Hynes’ game-high 17 points and Dana Clark’s seven paced 4-1 Rockland.

At Hampden, Lindsey Martin hit a jumper with about 15 seconds left in overtime to lead Hampden Academy to the overtime win.

Kimble Rawcliffe had eight points for the Broncos.

Brogan Liberty led Lawrence with 12 points. Megan Gilbert and Irene Campbell both added eight points.

At East Sullivan, the Mount Desert Island defence forced four turnovers in overtime to hold off the Tigers.

Amber Oman tossed up 13 points with a 3-pointer while Amethist Cousins added 12 points and Susan Falt had 10 for the winners.

Chelsea Norton tallied 13 points for Sumner while Crystal Bridges added 10.

Serena Dubois had 13 points and 12 rebounds for the Rams and Noelle Lincoln scored 12 points.

Jenna King led Old Town with 19 points and Katie Bergeron added 13 points.
