I’m in this job for the competition. It can be stressful, yet it is the most interesting job I can imagine for myself.
There is a race against time, heat, cold, rain and the endless miles to travel. Therefore, it is a competition.
The photographers even compete in who has the most miles on their car. For a good while, John was beating all of us with well into 200,000 miles, but then he unexpectedly dropped out by buying a new car, thus falling to last place.
Now Kevin is the undisputed champion, nearing a quarter-million miles on his vehicle.
But no winner lasts forever. He eventually will get tired, and then I shall emerge and will drive my victory miles until all joints shake loose.
Certainly it will not last for long, but it is a competition, and I want my time in the lead.
