Doucette, Crusaders stay unbeaten Van Buren knocks off Madawaska

VAN BUREN – Ben Doucette scored 10 of his game-high 18 points in the third quarter as undefeated Van Buren outscored Madawaska 17-6 to erase a two-point halftime deficit en route to a 52-47 high school boys basketball victory Tuesday night.

Trevor Hews finished with 13 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and Tyler Conley scored 12 points.

Van Buren connected on nine 3-pointers, including four by Doucette and three by Hews.

Mark Sirois’ 16 points and Josh Pelletier’s 11 led Madawaska.
