WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -Tourney MVP Megan Stetson scored 11 first-half points to give the Williams College Ephs a 28-17 first-half lead en route a 71-42 women’s basketball victory over Maine Maritime Academy of Castine in the final of the Winter Classic Tuesday.
Maggie Miller paced the winners with 14 points.
Alyssa Burns led the Mariners with 24 points to earn a spot on the all-tourney team along with teammate Amanda Johnson.

At Cincinnati, Michelle Campbell scored 21 points and Cappie Pondexter added 16 to help No. 8 Rutgers beat Cincinnati 64-51 on Tuesday night.
The Scarlet Knights (10-1, 2-0 Big East) have won two straight since being upset by Mississippi on Dec. 14.
Anne Stephens scored 17 points for Cincinnati (10-2, 0-1), which had its seven-game winning streak snapped. Freshman forward Michelle Jones had 10 points off the bench.
The Scarlet Knights trailed 33-28 at halftime but bounced back in the second half. Courtney Locke hit a 3-pointer to ignite a 17-5 run that gave Rutgers a 56-45 lead with 6:11 left.

At Springfield, Mass., Rob Stockwell tallied 20 points and eight rebounds as Bates of Lewiston won the Naismith Classic.
Zak Ray added 17 points and six assists for the winners and Bryan Wholey scored 14.
