Collinsworth propels Stearns past Schenck

MILLINOCKET – Amy Collinsworth tossed in a game-high 12 points to lead the Stearns High girls basketball team to a 58-30 win over archrival Schenck of East Millinocket in action Wednesday night.

Mary Hale chipped in with 10 points for the Minutemen, who led 26-10 at the half.

Robin Larlee paced the Wolverines with 10 points.

At Pettingill Arena in Auburn, Matt Boehmer’s goal late in the second period re-established a two-goal lead for the Rams as they improved their record to 2-4.

Goals by Drew Marin, Boehmer and Dylan George had staked Bangor to a 3-0 lead before Cam Robichaud scored twice to cut the lead to 3-2.

Marin added an insurance goal in the third period.

Ben Silver, Mike Varney, Joel Whitney and Christian Dionne had assists for Bangor and Andrew Riley made 11 saves.

Jacob Marcum had an assist for 2-4 Edward Little and Adam Loudermilk made 25 saves.

At Sukee Arena in Winslow, Andrew Casey and Casey Hull each scored two goals as John Bapst of Bangor improved its record to 2-2.

Ron St. Pierre added a goal for the Crusaders, while Matt Swift and Travis Poulin each had two assists as John Bapst built leads of 2-1 after the first period and 3-1 after two periods.

Jay Tracey scored two goals for 0-6 Skowhegan, while Chris Caron scored the Indians’ third goal.

John Bapst’s Nate Kuneman made 20 saves on 23 shots, while Skowhegan’s Jared Johnson stopped 28 of 33 shots.

Winslow 3, Hampden 0

At T.J. Ryan Arena, Brewer, Andy Wheeler scored a first-period goal and assisted two other goals to lead Winslow to the win.

Jeff Brown and Sean Bourgioes both scored a goal for 4-1 Winslow. Devon Grenier stopped all 17 shots.

Ryan Richards made 39 saves on 42 shots for 2-5 Hampden Academy.
