DOVER-FOXCROFT – A local man who has two previous convictions of assault was indicted Friday on another count of assault, one of three indictments returned by the Piscataquis County grand jury.
In addition to assault, Patrick Hathorne, also known as Micky Burgoyne, 32, of Dover-Foxcroft was indicted on criminal mischief, two counts of violation of conditions of release, escape and trafficking in prison contraband.
Hathorne, who is being held at the Piscataquis County Jail, will make his initial court appearance on the charges Monday in 13th District Court in Dover-Foxcroft.
Police were notified in November that Hathorne went to the home where his earlier victim was staying. District Attorney R. Christopher Almy said Hathorne fled when police arrived to arrest him. Police found him about two hours later, Almy said.
After he was taken to the Piscataquis County Jail, Hathorne made a tape-recorded telephone call to the same victim. Corrections officers also found marijuana in his possession.
In 1999, Hathorne was one of three men convicted of using clubs to severely beat two men during a brawl in a Corinth cornfield the year before.
Two other men also were indicted by a Piscataquis County grand jury.
Edward M. Witham, 25, of Milo was indicted on criminal trespass, criminal mischief, obstructing report of a crime, loaded firearm in a motor vehicle, unlawful possession of scheduled drugs and violation of conditions of release. Police say that in November, Witham allegedly entered his victim’s home and tried to block his victim’s telephone call to police. Police allegedly found him in possession of a gun and oxycodone.
Louis Joseph Nadeau, 54, of Brewer was indicted on four counts of unlawful sexual contact and two counts of gross sexual misconduct involving an Abbot boy who had not reached the age of 14.
Nadeau was convicted in 1993 of gross sexual assault and unlawful sexual contact.
