Swimming for children
HAMPDEN – The Lura Hoit Pool will offer swim lessons for all children.
Tuesday through Thursday lessons start a new session on Feb. 7, and Saturday lessons start Feb. 4. For information, call the pool at 862-4305.
Ski, snowboard lessons
ORONO – The Orono Parks and Recreation Department is accepting registrations for its 2006 skiing and snowboarding lessons.
Cross country skiing classes will be held at 3:30 p.m. Fridays, behind Orono High School. The fee is $30 per skier, or $50 per family up to five members.
Snowboarding and downhill skiing lessons will be held Wednesdays, Jan. 25-Feb. 15, at Hermon Mountain in Hermon. The cost for snowboarding lessons is $89 for Orono residents, $99 for others. The cost for downhill skiing lessons is $75 for Orono residents, $89 for others.
Fees for snowboarding and downhill skiing lessons include transportation and equipment rental.
The programs have a minimum and maximum enrollment. Early registration is advised.
