CORINTH – Central battled back from an eight-point halftime deficit to pull out a 47-43 schoolboy basketball victory over Houlton on Thursday night.

The Red Devils lost the seven-point lead they held after one quarter but finally prevailed by outscoring the Shiretowners 12-5 in the fourth.

Tyler Pineo paced Central with 14 points, and Danny Kane provided 10.

Josh Beals netted a game-high 16 points for Houlton.

Seven different players scored for 6-2 Houlton-Hodgdon. Sharif Abouleish, Chris Howland, Jordan Gard and Ian Pasquarelli notched a goal and an assist apiece.

Grady Anderson and Chris McGuire scored a goal each to support Aaron Fitzpatrick, who made nine saves on 10 shots.

James Dubay scored an unassisted goal for 1-8 Old Town. Jason Trask amassed 42 saves on 49 shots.

At Bangor, Tony Raymond netted three goals and had an assist to lead Orono by John Bapst.

Chris McCannon had two goals and an assist while Nathan Curtis added a goal for the Red Riots. Jared Buzzell made 15 saves on 17 shots for Orono.

Josh Hunnefeld and Chris Dunbar each scored a goal for John Bapst. Nate Kuneman had 17 saves on 23 shots for the Crusaders.

At Rockport, Allie Parent’s nine third-quarter points helped Camden Hills lead by as much as 13 points in the second half but the undefeated Windjammers needed three Carly Holgerson free throws late to hold off the rallying Huskies, who closed within 52-50.

Parent finished with a game-high 15 points. Christina Philoon and Kayla Carleton added eight points apiece and Philoon grabbed seven rebounds. Holgerson pulled down eight rebounds for the 10-0 winners.

Ruth Oviatt’s 14 points, Jenna Lorentsen’s nine and Amanda Asaro’s eight paced Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield.
