Martin Luther King breakfast at UMaine

ORONO – The 10th annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. “Keeping the Dream Alive” breakfast will be held from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 16, at Stodder Hall Commons on the University of Maine campus.

As part of the program, the late Rosa Parks, credited with helping start the civil rights movement in the U.S., will be honored.

Gov. John Baldacci, U.S. Rep. Michael Michaud and UM President Robert Kennedy are expected to attend. The keynote speaker is Bishop Steve Coleman of Portland’s Church of God in Christ.

Cost is $15 for adults, $5 for students and children 12 and under. For information call the Greater Bangor Area Chapter of the NAACP at 827-4493.
