BREWER – Matt Soucy scored a goal and notched an assist to lead the Hampden Academy Broncos to a 4-2 high school ice hockey win over the Stearns Minutemen at T.J. Ryan Center Saturday.
Ian Lee, Sam McNutt and Kathleen Macone each netted a goal. Ryan Richards and Camden Murray combined for 16 saves on 18 shots for the 5-5 Broncos.
Derek McGillicuddy and Nate Cyr each scored for Stearns. Paul Rucci made 33 saves on 37 shots for the 0-6 Minutemen of Millinocket.

At T.J. Ryan Center in Brewer, Prentiss Swett’s goal off an assist from Zach Wilson with 3:09 left in the game broke a scoreless tie and sent the Witches on to victory.
The other goal for the 9-1 Witches came on an empty-netter by Dylan Fitzpatrick in the final seconds. Ben Caldwell was credited with the assist. Jim Nicknair notched his first shutout this season by saving all nine shots he faced.
For the 4-5 Wildcats, Brendon Esquibel made 31 saves on 32 shots.

At Portland Ice Arena, Sam Johnson and Jon Anton each scored a goal and assisted another to help lead Cheverus to the win.
Mike Antoniou and Alex Arthur both scored a first-period goal for 8-2 Cheverus and Geno Dimillo had two assists. Casey Cox made 18 saves on 21 shots.
