EAST MACHIAS – The Calais Blue Devils edged the Washington Academy Raiders 137.6-135.8 to win the Downeast Athletic Conference cheerleading title Saturday at the Washington Academy gym.
It was Calais’ first DAC crown, according to coach Heidi Ryan-Braughton.
Machias placed third in the meet with 121 points and was followed by Narraguagus of Harrington (110.3) and Jonesport-Beals (91).
The Calais team members are Jen Beers, Alex Henry, Jessica Donovan, Keegan McCormick, Nick Harmon, Caitlyn Harmon, Tiffany Carson, Caitlyn Hinton, Jackie Magoon, Ashleigh Preston, Amy Muir, Brittany Sowers, Kristen Snider, Kayla Kelley, Ashley Melhiser, and Stevie-Jo Scott.
