COLLEGE

Rebecca Julian

Colby College freshman forward Rebecca Julian was named the NESCAC Women’s Ice Hockey Player of the Week. Julian scored three goals and had an assist in two wins over the weekend.

Traci Weatherhead

University of Maine at Fort Kent junior forward Traci Weatherhead was honored as the Sunrise Conference Women’s Basketball Player of the Week. Limestone’s Weatherhead scored a career-high 20 points against Fisher College.

Arcilla Jeffers

University of Maine at Fort Kent freshman Arcilla Jeffers was named the Rookie of the Week by the Sunrise Conference and by the Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association. Jeffers scored a career-high 18 points in a win over Fisher College.

Jeremiah Johnson

University of Maine at Machias senior guard/forward was named the Sunrise Conference Men’s Basketball Co-Player of the Week with Fisher College’s Michael Newcombe. Johnson averaged 29 points in three games for the Clipppers.

Eileen Flaherty

Bowdoin College junior forward Eileen Flaherty was named the Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Co-Player of the Week with Southern Maine’s Ashley Marble. Flaherty scored her 1,000th point after placing back-to-back 24 points games in a 1-1 week.

Ashley Marble

University of Southern Maine’s Ashley Marble was honored as the Maine Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Co-Player of the Week with Bowdoin’s Eileen Flaherty. Marble averaged 21.5 points and 10 rebounds while shooting 61.5 percent from the floor.

Alli Gamache

University of New England guard Alli Gamache was chosen as the Commonwealth Coast Conference Co-Rookie of the Week. Gamache averaged 14.5 points, 2.5 assists, and 2.5 steals for the Nor’easters in a 2-0 week.

Alyssa Burns

Maine Maritime Academy junior forward Alyssa Burns of Dixfield was honored as the Women’s Basketball Player of the Week by the North Atlantic Conference. Burns averaged 18 points, eight rebounds, and 3.5 assists in a 2-0 week for the Mariners.
