LEWISTON – Rob Stockwell tallied 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Bates College men’s basketball team to a 68-54 victory over St. Joseph’s of Standish Tuesday.

Bryan Wholey added 16 points and Zak Ray 10 for the winners.

R.J. Mattison led the Monks with 12.

At Plymouth, N.H., senior guard Brandon Boggs was one of five double-digit scorers for Plymouth State as he led the Panthers with 18 points.

Mark Dunham had 16, Mike Walcek scored 12, and Kevin Boutilier and Phil Bourassa each had 10 for the Panthers.

Andy Frost of Brewer led the University of Southern Maine Huskies with 15 points and Bill Hardwick added 12.
