ASHLAND – Sarah Riopel scored 10 points during a 24-8 scoring surge in the fourth quarter to power the Greater Houlton Christian Academy Eagles to a 58-48 schoolgirl basketball victory over the Ashland Hornets Thursday night.

The undefeated Eagles had trailed after the third quarter, 40-34, before rallying for their 13th victory.

Sarah Riopel scored 10 points to help the Greater Houlton Christian Academy Eagles erase a six-point, third-quarter deficit with a 24-8 scoring surge in the fourth quarter for their 13th victory.

Riopel paced the Eagles with 18 points while Lacey Farrar and Megan Korkonen each added 14.

Mindy Chasse led Ashland with 16 points and Whitney Flint put in 13.

Emery Lincoln also had 25 points for the Eagles and Brian Korhonen added 16 more.

Trevor Tompkins’ 18 points, Curtis Belanger’s 13 and Jason Levesque’s 12 paced Ashland.

Brock Bradford scored 18 points and dished out eight assists, and Matt Denbow added 17 points to lead the Patriots

Colby Robinson chipped in with nine points and nine rebounds for the winners.

Owen McCarthy tossed in 18 points for the Cougars and Jared Anderson added 13.
