RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech coach Jack Bicknell III, a former Orono High School athlete, was given a two-year contract extension Monday after leading the Bulldogs to a winning record last year and several high-profile victories during his seven seasons.

Bicknell is 40-42 at Louisiana Tech, including wins over Alabama in 1999, Oklahoma State in 2002, Michigan State in 2003 and Fresno State the last two seasons.

He led the Bulldogs to the 2001 Western Athletic Conference title and a berth in the 2001 Humanitarian Bowl.
