Foster paces Houlton to win

HOULTON – Rachel Foster notched a double-double with 19 points 12 rebounds to lead the Houlton girls basketball team to a 51-26 Class C victory over Stearns in high school action Monday.

Keegan Hovey tossed in 12 points for the Shiretowners.

Deanna Michaud led the Minutemen of Millinocket with six points.

At Houlton Saturday, Adam Knowles’ game-high 19 points led four players in double figures as undefeated Calais won its 13th game.

Sam Bell had 12 points, Brandon Tomah added 11, and Robbie Rogers scored 10 to complement Knowles.

Knowles, Bell, Tomah and Rogers had 32 of their 52 points in the second half as Calais pulled away.

Justin Stewart’s 11 points led the Shiretowners.
