A plethora of Maine racewalkers fared well at meets in Boston over the weekend.

Eighth-grader Matthew Forgues from Boothbay won the men’s 1-mile racewalk at the MIT Invitational in 7 minutes, 46.8 seconds and finished fourth in the GBTC Invitational in the 3K racewalk in 15:29.05. Older sister Lauren won the mile at MIT in 7:49 and finished second in the 3K in 14:50.48.

UMaine-Farmington students Adam Staier and Kate Dickinson did well in the college competition, both finishing in second place in the 5K. Scarborough’s Taylor Burns took fifth in 16:25 and Gardiner’s Aaron Carroll took eighth in 16:51.28.
