Bangor edges Brewer in OT

BANGOR – Johnny Warren scored off an assist from Dan Shufelt 1:16 into overtime to lift the Bangor Rams to a 6-5 high school hockey victory over the Brewer Witches Saturday at Sawyer Arena.

Bangor fought back from a five-goal deficit as Dylan George netted two goals with an assist. Shufelt, Ben Estabrook and Mike McPike each added a goal. Joe Gagne and Matt Boehmer each had two assists. Josh Seeley and Andrew Riley combined for 22 saves on 28 shots for the 5-6 Rams.

Dylan Fitzpatrick tallied three goals for Brewer while Dave Perry and Ben Caldwell added a goal each. Matt Wilson, Devin Fitzpatrick and Zack Wilson each contributed an assist. Aaron Saunders faced 33 shots and made 28 saves for the 10-4 Witches.

Hampden 7, Foxcroft Academy 3

At TJ Ryan Arena in Brewer, Ian Lee and Matt Soucy each netted two goals to lead the Broncos past the Ponies.

Steve Boutin and Dan Mangano each had a goal and an assist apiece, and Troy Gaudett added two assists for 6-7 Hampden Academy. Matt Albert and Cam Murray combined to make eight saves on 11 shots.

Logan Forrest and Joe Caparrelli each scored a goal and tallied an assists for 4-7 Foxcroft Academy. Dave White added a goal and Jon Catell stopped 31 of 38 shots he faced.

Presque Isle 4, John Bapst 1

At Presque Isle, Erik St. Peter scored two goals and contributed an assist as Presque Isle defeated John Bapst.

David O’Brien and Brandon Daigle each added a goal. Dylan Collins recorded two assists while Mike McGlinn and Brad Young each had an assist. Ethan Hill made 20 saves on 21 shots for the 7-7 Wildcats.

Travis Poulin of John Bapst scored the team’s only goal in the second period off a pass from Bryan Leighton. Nate Kuneman had 13 saves on 17 shots for the 4-6 Crusaders.

Presque Isle 63, MA Lynx 38

At Lincoln, Katie Delong scored 16 points to lead Presque Isle to its fifteenth straight win.

Angela Norsworthy netted 13 points while Sarah Porter added 10 points for the Wildcats.

Quinci Sanderson paced Mattanawcook with 14 points.
