A Bangor man was issued a summons late Friday night for leaving the scene of an accident after he reportedly drove his car into a ditch and hit a utility pole, knocking out power to a handful of homes near Husson College.
Kevin P. Jackson, 20, was trying to turn from College Circle onto Husson Avenue when he overcorrected and lost control of his vehicle, according to police. The man then drove away in his car after striking a utility pole.
Witnesses called police, who were able to locate Jackson and issue him a summons for leaving the scene. Witnesses also said they believe Jackson had been drinking, but police had no way to confirm that.

A transient who reportedly threw a brick at another man was arrested Friday night in Brewer after police learned he had outstanding warrants.
Two police officers went to a South Main Street residence at 7:30 p.m. Friday, where they found two individuals who apparently had been drinking.
They said that Robert Smith, 44, had been at the residence but at some point had thrown a brick at one of them and then left.
The police officers found Smith, who smelled strongly of alcohol, walking down Main Street. Smith had active warrants for unlawful trafficking in scheduled drugs.
He was arrested and taken to Penobscot County Jail, where he remained Sunday on probation hold for the outstanding warrants.

A Bangor man was arrested Friday for reportedly assaulting his girlfriend at her 44 Boyd St. apartment.
Police responding to the call saw a man, later identified as Louis Leveille, 26, of Bangor, grab a woman by the hair and drag her into the kitchen, according to reports.
The officers rushed into the building and separated Leveille from the woman and handcuffed him.
The victim was questioned in the next room and told police that Leveille had been drinking when he showed up that night and wanted to leave with their 9-month-old son.
When she refused, he started to hit her. When she tried to call police, he took the phone from her and began to choke her, according to reports.
Leveille was arrested and taken to Penobscot County Jail where he was charged with domestic assault.

Two people were issued summonses late Friday night in the parking lot of Ushuaia on Park Street in Orono after a police officer noticed the smell of marijuana coming from a vehicle.
Jibryne Karter, 21, of Fairfield and Amanda Bragg, 20, of East Vassalboro were inside and officers determined that they had recently been smoking, according to Sgt. Scott Wilcox.
Police also found alcohol in the vehicle.
Karter was charged with possession of a usable amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and furnishing alcohol to a minor. Bragg was charged with possession of alcohol by a minor.
