NEWTON, Mass. – Phil White and Buddy Leavitt registered double-doubles Sunday to pace Husson College of Bangor to an 88-62 North Atlantic Conference men’s basketball victory over Mount Ida.
Lasell defeated Husson 62-59 on Saturday.
On Sunday, White posted 19 points and 10 rebounds while Leavitt provided 18 points and 10 boards. Tyler Muzzy netted 12 points.
Scott Chamberlain and Doug Williams scored 15 points each for Mount Ida.
At Newton, Mass., on Saturday, Jamie Crawford and Dan Schweitzer both scored 18 points to lead Lasell past Husson.
Leavitt paced the Eagles with 26 points. Muzzy scored 14 points and Jason Harvey added 10.

UM-Machias gains weekend split
At Machias, Jeremiah Johnson scored 24 points Sunday to lead UMaine-Machias to a 71-61 Sunrise Conference men’s basketball victory over the College of Saint Joseph (Vt.).
In Saturday’s game, Lyndon State (Vt.) downed the Clippers 82-76.
In Sunday’s game, Phil Munro had 17 points and 11 rebounds for the Clippers and Tito Arias added 13 points.
Rich Ortega led the College of Saint Joseph with 25 points.
On Saturday, Tanner Pryce had 28 points, four assists and three steals to lead Lyndon State to victory.
Arias scored 17 points and had five assists for UMM. Jeremiah Johnson tallied 17 points, Charlie Calligan scored 12 and Munro had nine points and 11 rebounds.

At Storrs, Conn., Patricia Gagnon scored a power-play goal with 4:14 left in the third period Sunday to lift Maine to a 3-2 victory and a split of their weekend series.
Connecticut won Saturday’s game 5-1.
In Sunday’s game, Brigitte LaFlamme scored the other goal while Rachel Gettings made 15 saves on 16 shots for the 13-6-6 Black Bears.
Janelle Armitage scored the goal while Kaitlyn Shain had 34 saves on 36 shots for 11-16-1 for Connecticut.
In Saturday’s game, Katherine Van Deveire scored two goals to lead Connecticut. Natalie Vibert, Elizabeth Gallinaro and Jaclyn Hawkins each added a goal for the Huskies. Kaitlyn Shain made 19 saves on 20 shots.
