ALFRED – A former Maine man was returned to his home state Monday to face a murder charge in the death of a Boston man found alongside the Maine Turnpike, officials said.

Huy Van Nguyen, 33, of South Portland, and Nhan H. Truong, 37, of Portland, were charged with murder last month, but a third suspect, Son Nguyen, 38, was being held on an unrelated charge in Middleton, Mass., authorities said.

Son Nguyen, formerly from the Portland area, waived extradition Monday in District Court in Salem, Mass., and was escorted to the York County Jail, officials said.

The three men are accused in the shooting death of 32-year-old Dung Ngo from the Dorchester section of Boston. Ngo’s body was found in the woods alongside the Maine Turnpike in York on Oct. 15. He had been missing for about a month.
