ORONO – Derek McGillicuddy scored three goals to lead the Stearns Minutemen to an 8-1 high school hockey victory over Old Town at Alfond Arena Monday night.

Mike Simon added two goals and assisted on three others for the 2-12 Minutemen Millinocket, while Nate Cyr posted two goals and an assist. Mike Busque provided a goal and an assist.

Luke Stahl assisted on two goals while Lance Thibodeau and Josh Stahl added one each. Paul Rucci made 20 saves on 22 shots.

Ryan Daniel scored for 2-13 Old Town off a Joe Doucette assist. Dan Lebreton and Jason Trask combined to make 34 saves on 42 shots.

Hampden 3, John Bapst 1

At T.J. Ryan Arena in Brewer, Josh Tardiff and Steve Boutin each tallied a goal and an assist as Hampden beat John Bapst.

Troy Gaudet netted a goal for the Broncos, who improve to 7-9. Ryan Richards made 19 saves on 20 shots.

Josh Hunnefeld scored the lone goal for the Crusaders and Andrew Casey notched an assist. Nate Cuneman made 19 saves on 22 shots as John Bapst falls to 5-9.

Schenck 59, Katahdin 44

At Stacyville, Robin Larley dropped a game-high 30 points and Ashley Peabody chipped in with 11 to lead Schenck of East Millinocket past Katahdin.

Roni Robinson led the Cougars with 15 points and Clarissa Gallagher added 14.

At Husson College’s Newman Gym in Bangor, Kelsey Lavertu scored 17 points and pulled down 14 rebounds to lead Penobscot Valley of Howland past Bangor Christian.

Morgan Cyr had 14 points for the winners and Ashley Dawson scored 10 more.

Lavertu and Cyr had six points each in the third quarter as PVHS outscored Bangor Christian 17-5 to break a halftime tie.

Jenn Hutchins had a game-high 21 points, including six three-pointers, for Bangor Christian and Morgan Chasse had 11 more.
