TYLER BROOKINGS
Brookings, a sophomore at Bangor High, recorded two first places and a second in helping the Rams defeat Old Town in a swim meet on Friday. Brookings finished first in the 50 freestyle, second in the 100 freestyle and anchored the winning 200 freestyle relay team.
Small School (Classes C-D)
NATE LIZOTTE
Lizotte, a senior wrestler at Madawaska High, captured the Eastern Maine Class C championship in the 152-pound division Saturday and became the first wrestler at his school to record 100 career victories.
GIRLS
Big School (Classes A-B)
JENNA LORENTSEN
Lorentsen, a sophomore guard-forward on the Maine Central Institute basketball team, scored 19 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in a 51-45 upset win in overtime over Rockland Tuesday. She went 13-for-16 from the free-throw line overall, including 5-for-6 in OT. Lorentsen also had four of her rebounds in the extra period.
Small School (Classes C-D)
KEEGAN HOVEY
The Houlton junior guard led the Shiretowners with 21 points and 15 rebounds in a pointworthy 46-40 basketball win over Central of Corinth Friday. Hovey also scored a game-high 17 points in 46-39 win over Hodgdon on Wednesday, Feb. 1. Houlton swept both teams this season.
